Focus Areas
Petter Bjerke has broad experience in the field of general commercial law, contract law and negotiation, corporate law and transactions, including due-diligence investigations). He has assisted several companies within different sectors with general corporate law and contract law and has been involved in a number of transactions (M & A), due-diligence investigations as well as establishment of setting up companies in Norway as well as establishing joint ventures in Norway and abroad. Petter has also worked with various stock exchange and securities law issues, including IPO’s, take-overs, tender offers, de-listings and share issues as well as various compliance issues related to listed companies. He has good understanding of intellectual property law.

  • Master of Laws (LL.M) from Ludwig Maximilians Universität in Munich on E.ON Ruhrgas Scholarship (2000).
  • Cand.jur from the University of Oslo (1998)
  • Exchange student under the ERASMUS Program at University of Regensburg, Germany (1996)

Experience
Petter joined Legalteam advokatfirma DA as a partner in October 2007. Prior to this he worked five years as an associate/Senior Associate in the corporate practice group of Thommessen Krefting Greve Lund AS advokatfirma (Thommessen). Petter has also worked one year as a “foreign temporary associate” at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where he was assigned to the M&A and Securities practice groups. He also has experience as an in-house lawyer in Telenor ASA while working 1,5 years at Advokatene i Telenor.

"Das Vorbenutzungsrecht nach § 12 PatG und das neue Abwehrrecht des US-First Inventor Defense Act" (Prior user rights according to § 12 in German Patent Code and the US-First Inventor Defense Act). Published in GRUR Int.2001. p.828-838.

In addition, Petter has as part of his LL.M studies in Munich written a thesis on “comparative analysis of the compulsory license scheme according to the Patent laws of Norway and Germany”, which Petter wrote at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Munich.
